Terms of Service

Last updated: March 14, 2026

Welcome to Moneylogue. By downloading, installing, or using the Moneylogue mobile application ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your data.

1. About the Service

Moneylogue is a spending narrative app that helps you understand your financial habits by importing, categorizing, and visualizing your transactions. The app uses AI (Google Gemini) to automatically categorize transactions, extract receipt data, and generate personalized spending stories.

Moneylogue is not a financial advisor, accountant, tax service, or banking application. The app does not access your bank accounts, make transactions on your behalf, or provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any insights, categories, or narratives generated by the app are for informational and entertainment purposes only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Moneylogue. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Account & Authentication

Moneylogue supports anonymous sign-in and optional email-based authentication via Firebase Auth.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription & Billing

Moneylogue offers both free and premium features. Premium features require an active subscription, purchased through Google Play.

5. Your Data & Content

You retain ownership of all transaction data, receipt images, and other content you provide to Moneylogue. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your data solely for the purpose of providing the service — including sending transaction data to AI services for categorization and narrative generation.

We practise data minimization: only the data necessary to perform a specific function is sent to any third-party service. For AI categorization and story generation, we send transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, comments, and receipt line items to Google Gemini (Vertex AI) hosted in the EU (europe-west1). Receipt images are processed in real-time for text extraction and are never stored on our servers. We do not provide your data to Google for the purpose of training their AI models — processing occurs under Google Cloud's data processing terms, not general consumer terms.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you import. Do not import data that you do not have the right to use.

6. AI-Generated Content

Important

AI features — including automatic categorization, receipt extraction, and spending stories — are generated by machine learning models (Google Gemini). These outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

8. Intellectual Property

The Moneylogue app, its design, code, branding, logos, and all original content are the property of Moneylogue and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

The "Moneylogue" name, logo, and associated marks are trademarks of Moneylogue. You may not use them without prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Moneylogue relies on third-party services to operate, including:

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep Moneylogue available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, server issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.

11. Account Termination

You may stop using Moneylogue at any time. To delete your account and all associated data:

For full details on what data is removed, see the account deletion section of our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive behavior, or if required by law. Where possible, we will provide notice before taking such action.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

MONEYLOGUE IS NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICE. NOTHING IN THE APP CONSTITUTES FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MONEYLOGUE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES ARISING FROM:

IN ANY EVENT, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Moneylogue and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, nothing in these Terms affects your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, nor any mandatory consumer protection rights afforded by the laws of that country. For all other users, any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Moneylogue regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
